Russ, a connoisseur of junk food and lover of the WWE. Christen, a meticulous planner and hardcore crossfit trainer. Turns out this is the epitome of a match made in heaven.
Their day started off with my heart racing. Driving up to the bride’s house, I was convinced it was on fire. To my relief, I learned that the house was not on fire at the same time that I learned measures had been taken to drastically reduce the mosquito population.
The first look location, the BDI bridge, has rich history with these two. It was the place of their first date, and the spot Russ chose to ask Christen to be his wife. Complimenting this, the threat of rain ensured that very few Winnipeggers showed up for ice cream, leaving us with a fairly quiet and romantic space for a first look, and bridal party photos.
After a quick stop at The Kings Head Pub for some drinks and an arm wrestling tournament, these two popped by to see their Grandpa who was not well enough to attend the wedding.
Christen’s parents hosted a beautiful backyard wedding ceremony and tent reception on their large property on the Red River. The tent was clear, allowing us to watch the lightning roll in.
A fantastic day it was.
