Manitoba wedding in Asessippi Provincial Park
From climbing trees, to a beautiful hillside wedding ceremony rich in First Nations culture, to a unique burger bar dinner, this wedding had me smiling and guessing what was next from start to finish.
My wife (Jocelyn) and I drove the 4.5 hours from Winnipeg to Asessippi the morning of. Driving through our beautiful, rolling, prairie landscape was an awesome start to the day. Rachel, Kevin as well as their friends and family were extremely welcoming, and an absolute joy to be around.
When the day’s coverage was complete, Jocelyn and I drove out to their ceremony site for one final photo of the booming reception venue under the starry skies.
Just when we thought this day couldn’t get any better we drove to our accommodations for the night which was a converted barn nestled in the bushes just outside Asessippi Provincial Park.
When we woke up the next morning, my wife and I were officially celebrating our own wedding anniversary. 5 years together. From shooting two weddings that weekend, and then celebrating our own anniversary, it was one continuous long weekend celebration of friends, families and life-long partners in crime. It was perfect.
