Courtney and Scott, were simply meant to be. It was a serendipitous meeting on the day they met. The story is if it had not been for Courtney’s grandmother, who was ill in hospital at the time, that they may never have met at all! You see, Scott was Courtney’s grandmothers nurse, and not only did he help heal her back to health he literally swept Courtney off her feet.

Love at first sight is something that has to be believed in, kismet played its hand and when they met it had been prewritten in the stars. From that moment on they have found love, laughter and everything in between. A daughter Brynlee followed and a furry friend who stole my heart Hershey ; are what completes this perfect little family.

The day of their wedding was filled with so much laughter, it turned out to be a little blustery, but that did not stop anyone from having a truly memorable day.  Axe Throwing was another highlight and  The girls out played the boys, just saying! A memorable highlight was watching Courtney chase after her veil in high heels and dress, nothing stops this gal from having her day! Laughter filled the air as the music played and smiles were laid all around.

We live in a world that travels by so very fast. Photography takes away all the sound, gives you time to pause, reflect and dream, helps you realize that moment that has been captured. Captured, happy festive memories is my way of giving back to you all.

Winnipeg Best Western Plus Wedding | Tayler & Zach

Winnipeg Best Western Plus Wedding

Taylor & Zach, met, fell in love and started their happy lives together. Today, at the Best Western Plus in Winnipeg, was a union of two very special people.

Laughter flowed as we started at Lower Fort Garry where the weather played on our side. The clouds rolled by, as the wind picked up making for some very dramatic pictures.

Next stop the Legislative building, a powerful piece of architecture, I find this building is always so beguiling. Our final stop was at the Best Western Hotel for the ceremony & Reception, much love was apparent, many tears and so much laughter.

One point I would like to say is that I have been elevated before and will probably be again, but being a part of something truly so emotional as the message from Zach’s mother was really unsurpassable. There was not a dry eye in the house, including mine. A memory I will keep inside always.

I love this life, I am honored to be a part of all weddings. Personally, I feel like I am always catching my breath and saying “Oh! Look at that?” I find photography is my way of bearing witness to the shear joy I find in seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary. Capturing the single moment, that memory, is what makes my life so complete. We at the collective always say, ‘you don’t look for pictures, your pictures are looking for you!’

A Mothers love

A mother’s love shone through this day,

The day we said I do.

With tears in our hearts, and our souls united,

Becoming one, was all so true.

Our two souls connected like no other,

In thinking of our mother,

I ask you this my sweet love,

To love me all my days,

Our hopes, our dreams, will always be

Together, as one and free.

Winter Wedding at Fort Gibraltar | Laura & Josh

Winter Wedding at Fort Gibraltar

These two got married on a Monday - and not just any Monday - a Monday where we had the biggest snowfall and blizzard like conditions so far the entire winter. Needles to say - with schools being cancelled , and Laura being a teacher - she had her entire class match the ceremony in the church online.

After the ceremony we headed to Aspire Studios to take some pictures. Perfect location right in the heart of the Exchange District. Great indoor location in the winter when its too cold to take pictures outside and also a great location in the summer - just to get out of the heat a little and perhaps a backup location for when it rains. With 4 studios to choose from - each of them very different , this is a very unique and cost effective option for your wedding day.

Fort Gibraltar has always been among some of my favourite venues - but to see it in the winter - just made me fall in love with it even more. It surely was a winter wonderland - and if it was warmer we would’ve probably spent a lot more time shooting outside.

Laura & Josh, thank you for inviting me into your lives and making me a part of your Wedding Day. This was such a special day and a I could not be any happier for you.
