Winter Engagement Photos in Birds Hill Park | Sarah & Terence

Photos & Text by Tony

Chalk up another first for me on this shoot.  And I love firsts.  My artistic drive gets seriously boosted, and while I’m running around with my camera, I also have a big stupid grin on my face the entire time.

Horses are massive creatures that I don’t fully understand, and have a healthy respect for.  Every fibre of their being is fully capable of crushing me, or kicking me into next week.  And I got to sit on the boss’s horse who seemed to know he was at the top of the pecking order.

With my camera in one hand, and a majestic beast between my legs we set off to take some beautiful engagement photos out in Bird’s Hill Park.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with these two.  Their laughing was hilarious, jokes inappropriate and when it got dark they talked about zombies to get in the romantic mood.

Sarah’s hair provided the perfect pop of colour against the snowy backdrop and just when I thought the shoot couldn’t be any better we had an incredible snow shower.  One of the ones where the flakes were as big as pingpong balls and yet fell so slowly and gracefully.  Plus when the shoot was over, driving home felt like watching the Windows’ ‘Flying Through Space’ screensaver for an hour.

So excited to share these images and this story.  I am also very much looking forward to their wedding at the Children’s Museum later this year.
