The Rustic Wedding Barn in Steinbach
Its not that often that I smell of booze first thing in the morning. Certainly not while at work.
But this wedding was a little different than most. And it started with me getting showered in Champagne. I’ve been told it was unintentional. Regardless of this, it made for a super fun opening photo, and set the tone for the rest of the day. Based on the intensity of the party, I think by the end of the night I was far from being the only one soaked in booze.
Now before I get any further in describing the story of the day, I must start with saying how amazing the Rustic Wedding Barn is. The dark, rustic, classy feel of the reception space is a photographer’s dream. The options for indoor/outdoor ceremony space is unlike anything else I’ve seen in the Winnipeg area, and I can’t believe this was my first time shooting there. I can’t wait to go back.
Back to Kailee and Eric. Let’s be real; most of the people I talked to predicted Eric would shed a tear or two. The same crowd seemed confident that Kailee’s eyes would stay dry. I am happy to say they were very right on their first prediction, and equally wrong on their second. Both of them succumbed to the emotions of the day. But how could they not? It was an incredible celebration, honouring of those important people that have passed away, and capped off with a bumping reception. It was incredible!
However, I have to say this was my first time shooting a wedding where someone was shot, not once, but twice by their significant other and still agreed to marry them. But that may be a story for another day.
In the meantime, sit back, relax and enjoy these memories of a beautiful summer wedding.
